In the recent times, the development and popularity of sports have grown immensely. Urban areas have become the depot where sports facilities are provided. Spors have now been an important part of children's cirriculum and hence justifies its popularization. However each coin has its two sides. Provision of sports facilities involes its own benefits and costs listed below.

Pros:

i) Owing to the growing popularization od the sports activities, the number of people using this facilities are growing rigorously. The government can take advantage of this groing usage os sports facilities, and impose a number of taxes as such, stadium taxex, sales, propoerty and personal taxes ets which would eventually increase the government's revenue.

ii) The building up of the infrastrudture, its operatin, involves a number of people, which increases the employment opportunities.

iii) Sports have become immensely popular among children, and it obvioslu helps in their proper nourishment and growth.

Although the sports facilities provide a number of benefits, it involses some costs as well.

Cons:

i) The sports infrastuctural costs are tremendously high. Building of proper stadium, land aquisiion costs ets. These involves great opportunity costs as well.

ii) The operation and maintainence costs are very high, and it often requires government support, as provate entrepreneurs often fail to meet such large expenses.
