Which of the following is an effect of renin-angiotensin mechanism?
a) Vasodilation.
b) Increase blood volume.
c) Decrease in blood pressure.
d) Decreased peripheral resistance.
c) Increase blood volume
In renin angiotensin aldosterone mechanism the liver release angiotensinogen into circulation. Which causes low BP and changes the sodium concentration. So the renin will convert the angiotensinogen to angiotensin 1 and it is converted to angiotensin 2 by ACE inhibitor. The angiotensin 2 will cause vasoconstriction and increase BP and also the aldosterone will reabsorb the sodium and it will increase the volume of blood and increases the BP.
