Find (i) General fertility rate, (ii) Age-specific fertility rates, (iii) Total fertility rate, (iv) Cumulative fertility rate, (v) Standardized general fertility rate.

Solutions

Expert Solution

(i) General fertility rate = (Total live birth/ Female polation of age 15-49) * 1000 = 78.94

(ii) Age-specific fertility rates=  Number of live birth/ Female polation of that age groupage , to be calculated for each age group

(iii) Total fertility rate, It is calculated by adding up the average number of births per woman across five-year age groups (i.e. age-specific fertility rates, or ASFR).= (5 * ASFR)/1000= 2.40181

(iv) Cumulative fertility rate = 5 * ASFR

(v) Standardized general fertility rate= 68.178 It is calculated as the average of the age-specific fertility rates. The age-groups (15 years to 49 years) are weighted by a standard population (standardized). The figure is reported per 1,000 women.
