What is meant by "agribusiness" and "factory farming" and how do these conflict with the new trend of "green markets," eating locally grown foods, and the "organic" foods trend in the United States?
"Agribusiness"and "factory farming" are practices of farming in large scale for the purpose of business or commercial purpose or in other words commercial agricultural practices. This includes use of farming practices as insecticides, pesticides and chemical fertilisers for the large scale production .These practices of farming are causing several adverse effects on both consumers and the soil and nature. The " green markets" is a newer trend along with the"organic farming" ,as an alternative farming practices, these farming practices emphasis more on natural way of production. They use natural manures and growing of crops and vegetables that best suits for the soil and climate, emphasis on local production and consumption. Due to their nature friendly and health benefits reasons people are more opting for such products and thus they conflict the commercially produced products, also they envision the sustainable development of agriculture that is not a feature of commercial agricultural practices.
