Big data refers to large volumes of data that exist both in structured as well as unstructured form. My organization is a consultancy firm that offers consultancy services in the field of oil and gas exploration, thermal energy, renewable energy and wind energy. My company often advises governments and large corporations with regards to emerging trends in the energy space and what the future holds for us and how can the dependence on fossil fuels can be reduced going forward.

It is here that big data is of considerable use for my organization. My organization uses big data to make deep analysis for the purpose of developing insights in the energy space. Big data is used to comprehensively analyze and develop insights for the different and entire stages of the industry value. My organization makes use of big data to develop pragmatic actions that can be practically applied in the energy industry and ensure that in future energy can be developed cost effectively and in a manner that is environmentally friendly. My organization is also making use of big data to advise oil and gas companies on different ways of powering their business. We are constantly advising our clients on ways to improve exploration and drilling. Our downstream clients use our insights and analysis to improve their logistics, supply chain, marketing as well as trading activities.

All in all big data is proving very useful for my organization which relies on information and new knowledge to develop its business. Big data has enabled my consultancy firm to advice clients on possible cost effective outcomes for the future that are sustainable as well. Big data has enabled my organization to integrate various data points, develop outcomes from the data, do data interpretation and develop key insights.
