Contribution of African continent to International trade
Out of the 162 members of World Trade Organization, there are 43 African country members. But then also Africa’s contribution to international trade is less than 2% compared to the whole world. With such less contribution African countries are trying to open up to trade with other countries. It supplies some basic commodities and raw materials in limited quantities, so it remains at the bottom of many other countries.
An organization has been set up to look after the international trade of the African continent which is known as Africa International Trade and Commerce Research.
Africa has developed hydro electric power plants in Nigeria through different structures and has given source to many investments.
Africa has produced Urea fertilizer plants with the help of different good project promoters and companies.
Africa is the leading project investor in groundnut processing factory in Nigeria.
Africa has invested for railways with the federal transport ministry.
