A theme ride vehicle is moving uphill at a constant speed. The slope of the hill is 10○. The mass of the vehicle plus the riders is 2000 kg. The vehicle is powered by a WLIM (Wheeled Linear Induction Motor). The pole pitch of the motor is 0.5m. The friction coefficient of the surface is 0.01. The primary circuit resistance R1 is 0.5 Ω, and the secondary resistance referred to the primary circuit R2’ is 1.0 Ω. The equivalent inductance of the secondary circuits is 0.01H. The line-to-line voltage of the primary windings of the motor is 480V, and its frequency is 15 Hz. Assume that the drag force is 500N. Compute the speed of the vehicle.

A very metal train moving at a constant speed is passing a hippie observer on a platform. On one of the train cars, a Deathcore guitarist is continually hammering out a note at a frequency of 450 Hz. After the guitarist has passed, the hippie hears the sound with a frequency of 420 Hz. What is the speed of the train? Please explain work, I always rate!!:)

A car moving at a constant speed of 40m/s overtakes a stationary police car which immediately starts to chase the speeding car at a constant acceleration. What is the speed of the police car when it overtakes the speeding car? (Note: No other knowns except speed of speeding car and that the police car has constant acceleration).

A truck traveling at a constant speed of 28 m/s passes a more slowly moving car. The instant the truck passes the car, the car begins to accelerate at a constant rate of 1.2 m/s^2 and passes the truck 545 m farther down the road. What was the speed of the car (in meters/second) when it was first passed by the truck?

The power delivered to the wheels of a vehicle (w) as a function of vehicle speed (V) is given by: w = 0.01417[hp/mph2]V 2 + 0.6300[hp/mph]V - 0.3937[hp] where power is in horsepower and velocity in mph. The amount of heat rejected from the engine block (qb) is approximately equal to the amount of power delivered to the wheel (the rest of the energy from the fuel leaves with the exhaust gas). The heat is removed from the engine by...

In a study investigating the effect of car speed on accident severity, the vehicle speed at impact was recorded for 5000 fatal accidents. For these accidents, the mean speed was 42 miles per hour with a standard deviation of 15 miles per hour.
