You are an employee working with the elderly in a health care facility. As an employee, discuss the actions you would take if faced with the following situation. An elderly adult confides in you that her son is forging her name on checks and gradually emptying out her bank account. Are there legal implications? Are there ethical considerations?

Answer- Forgery is an offence which is punishable under the law. Forgery means to copy, edit, or possess something in a false manner to use it tontheir advantage. In this case the person who is elderly is confiding that her son is using her names on checks and using it to withraw money from her bank account and eventually making it empty. This type of crime is punishable as per law.

As per the law forgery is considered felony according to the federal law. Generally the punishment depends on the type of forgery and includes serving a specific term in the prison, fines, compensating the victim for the amount that was forged etc.

In the given case the elderly should consult an attorney in the state she lives in for the case and tell the details about the criminal offence to the attorney. The attorney will help to understand the legal consequences of such a case and help her het back her money and eventually protect her federal rights.

Ethical consideration means to understand what is considered right and what is considered wrong. Thus, it involves assessing the situation and following a certain path that is considered socially good or approved by the society

Ethical considerations can be that such frauds let down people and make them think bad about the situation in the society. Such frauds lead to implementation of more strict laws so as to preventbthem from happening in the future. To prevent such frauds from happening there should he correct teachings so that people understand and be more socially responsible.
