NARATRIPTAN amerge classifications: Autonomous nervous system agent; adrenergic antagonist ( sympathetic); 5-ht 1 serotonin agonist.

Action: binds to serotonin receptors on intracranial blood vessels resulting in selective vasoconstriction of dilated vessels in the carotid circulation.

Therapeutic effects:- inhibits vasoconstriction of dilated vessels selectively and also the release of proinflammatory neuropeptides. This results in the relief of acute migraine headache attacks

Action:- selective (5HT 1B/1D) receptor agonist. The agonist effects of 5 HT 1B/1D reverse the vasodilation of cranial blood vessels associated with migraine

Therapeutic effects:- activation of the 5-HT 1B/1D receptors reduces the pain pathways associated with the migraine headache as well as reversing vasodilation of cranial blood vessels.

Zolmitriptan ( nasal spray classifications)

Action:- selective serotonin receptor agonist. The agonist effects at 5- HT 1 B/ 1D reverse the vasodilation of cranial blood vessels associated with migraine.

Therapeutic effects:- Activation of these receptors also reduces the pain pathways associated with migraine headache in addition to causing vasoconstriction.

Modafinil is a drug used for excessive sleepiness caused by narcolepsy or shift work sleep disorder.

- Take as soon as you awaken because the drug can cause insomnia
