Dependence on information derived from examining patterns and relationships in data has increased as a result of the shift toward evidence-based practice in health care. True or false?

True

False

Solutions

Expert Solution

Answer:

True

Evidence-based practice is a use of current best research evidence while deciding the best patients care.

This can be achieved by using Multivariate data analysis. Where more variables can be examined to find patterns of data which is more accurately represents the real situation.

In the health care industry, evidence-based decision making is more valuable. Health care professionals work with more objective and scientific data pertaining to the medical conditions of patients. While handling same conditions of patients, one doctor may prescribe one treatment whereas other doctor may prefer different treatment. Here the data will be examined to assess which treatment has shown the most effective progress in actual practice setting to decide which best patients care. Hence there is a dependency exists on the information obtained from examining patterns and relationships in data for evidence-based practice in health care.

Missing data can be derived, and journal entries constructed, from information in the accounts. The following schedule shows the amounts related to supplies that a city debited and credited to the indicated accounts during a year (not necessarily the year‐end balances), excluding closing entries. The city records its budget, encumbers all its expenditures, and initially vouchers all payments. All revenue was collected in cash. Some information is missing. By reconstructing the entries that the city made during the year, you...

The Data Mining Process and manual extraction of patterns from data has occurred for centuries. Early methods of identifying patterns and trends in data include Bayes' theorem (circa 1700s) and regression analysis (circa 1800s). The proliferation, ubiquity and increasing power of computer technology has dramatically increased data collection, storage, and manipulation capabilities. As data sets have grown and increased in complexity forming “Big Data” farms and structured Data Warehouses, "hands-on" data analysis has increasingly been enhanced with automated data processing...
