Question 5 5. The Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1901 is the foundation of Australia’s political and legal system of government. Identify and describe in detail four features of the Australian Constitution.
Constitution of Australia;
It is the supreme law under which the government of the common wealth of Australia operates including its relationship to States bof Australia.
1.Federal parliament and government are responsible for making decisions and law of nation.
2.Bicameral parliament : it contains two chambers
The house of Representatives (lower house), comprising of 150 members and the senate (upper house) made up of 76 senates.
3.six State governments ,state governments are responsible for the things like schools , hosipatals,, environmental, public transport as well as many other matters.
4.Power sharing between federal and state governments,where state governments are responsible for matters that effect the State.Federal government is incharge and have impact on entire nation.
The high court of Australia is the final court of appeal.It settle the disputes between the Australian and state governments.
