given the very recent cases of crimes being solved using a relative's DNA and constructing a "family tree", does and should this use of DNA cause any concern in the public health profession?
The use of geneology is a market driven by curiorsity where individual are curious to find their biological origins. The use of DNA in order to perform researchs and study which may result in invention of health beneficial outcomes is acceptrable to public but exposing once genetic traits just to trace a family may be equally acceptable in public health.The use of DNA for testing has the potential to result in familial discord or rejection. The use of DNA for genealogy test have many privacy issues. The informations fed during the genealogy test are hacked by the unauthourized user who may utilize it many destructive ways in our lifes. If the test results in any genetic predisposition to certain diseases then that information can be used by such unauthorized user to make discrimations.
Therefore, use of DNA for developing constructive outcome for the society which may cause benefits to the human race can be promoted but use of DNA for other fun purposes should be avoided.
