Hmm, Thea thinks, my diagnosis is ulcerative colitis. The begin to compare and contrast the two conditions.
A.What might they find?
Alma is a 55 y.o. women, who suffers from constipation, abdominal pain and bloating. She is overweight because she leads a sedentary lifestyle and because she does all the cooking for her family, she is unhappy and tends to overeat. A colonoscopy reveals that she had inflamed outpouchings in her mucosa.
B. What can you tell her about the pathophysiology of the condition? What health advice to you have for her?
C. Differentiate between the two types of stress ulcers?
D. Using the concept map of obesity, discuss and describe three of the complications of obesity. Then provide the role of leptin, peptide yy, ghrelin, adiponectin, and endocannabinoids.
A) Answer:
They might found : Ulcerative colitis affects only the large intestine whereas in Crohn's disease, inflammation may occur anywhere along the digestive tract.
B) PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF THE DISEASE CONDITION :

Eat fibre rich diet.
Exercise regularly.
Drink plenty of fluids.
Avoid smoking.
C) Difference between mouth ulcer and peptic ulcer :
Mouth ulcers are found inside the lips, and on the tongue or gums whereas, peptic ulcers are found in the stomach and in the upper area of small intestine.
D) Three complications of obesity :
Various systems are affected due to obesity, among them the three complications that arise in accord of obesity are coronary artery disease, asthma, type 2 diabetes.
Coronary artery disease.:intake of imbalanced diet result in deposition of fat in blood vessels and an increased level of cholesterol.
Asthma:Intake of high amount of food and less exercise will lead to asthma.
Diabetes : Due to sedentary lifestyle there would be impairement in metabolism, which affects the breakdown of sugar and inhibits the production of insulin. Decreased levels of adiponectin, a fat derived hormone, results in the development of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases.
Decreased levels of leptin results developing hypertension.
