1. What are the issues involved in climate change/environment and what are countries doing to address them? What is the "tragedy of the commons"?
2. How does population growth affect economic resources and world conflict?
3. What policies have countries adopted to deal with the problem of increasing population?
4. How can information be used as a tool for or against governments?
5. Why are cultural imperialism and ethnocentrism issues in international relations?
1) The major issues regarding the climate change and
environmental problems are declining water supplies, health
impacts, soil erosion, flooding and degradation of the environment.
The climate changes increase the temperature and it leads to
depletion of ozone layer. This over heat leads to melting of Ice
Mountains and leads to flood in that region. The continuous change
in climate change affect the production and distribution of the
goods and services and this will create inequality and unethical
activities in the economy. Most of the countries introduce several
programmes to make control over the economic degradation. Tragedy
of commons is the sharing of resources where the individuals act on
the basis of self interest. This will affect the sharing of public
goods.
2) The increasing population will decrease the per capita income.
The increasing pressure of population on natural resources will
increase the cost of consumption goods because of the scarcity of
the cooperation between the owners of factors of production. The
expense will increase with respect to the declining level of
capital accumulation. The population rise will make higher
exploitation over the natural resources. This will affect the
sustainability and the future development. So there is a conflict
emerged between the developing nations and this will affect the
trade relations also.
3) Government intervention has a huge impact over the increasing
population growth. The major measures were offering family planning
support and investment over the behavioural change of the people.
The family planning considered as a national priority to control
the birth rate. The population control will reduce the most
important social problems like hunger, poverty, famine and
inequality. Ensuring sufficient gap between child births, access
for the use of contraceptives, addressing socio cultural barriers,
population stabilisation etc. are the most preferring activities of
the government.
4) Right to information act helps to find the role of government in
social activities. This information right will increase the
participation of the people in national activities. Normal people
can engage in the national level of activities. This will help to
fight against the corruption and also helps to solve the problem of
failures of government.
5) Both the cultural imperialism and ethnocentric problems affect
the international relations. This affects the economic relations in
terms of their resource availability. Cultural imperialism give
preference for one own culture. This will leads to understands
among the people from different culture. Different forms of
ethnocentrism leads to racism in the international
relations.
