What are aggregate planning and scheduling in cardboard boxes company?
Aggregate planning and scheduling are defined as a sequential process of development, analysis, and maintenance of a schedule of the entire operations of a cardboard box company. The planning is done to simplify the production process and it is carried out prior 6 to 9 months regarding the quantities of resources and materials to be required in cardboard box production.
The aggregate plan consists of the customer backlogs, production levels, inventory levels, sales forecast. Aggregate scheduling is conducted as a plan to fulfil the forecasted demands and at a minimum cost. The cardboard box companies produce card boxes for other companies that require packaging materials for their products. Hence, to tackle the huge demand aggregate scheduling and aggregate planning is conducted for smooth production and maintenance of inventory.
