After reading Freud’s Psychoanalysis theory
What is covered by emphasizing the Ego or conscience?

Solutions

Expert Solution

I think both are covered, and truly unconscious is being more covered. Freud focused more on unconscious or hidden meanings that a person applies. Any hidden or buried anxiety during childhood, dream analysis etc they all are more part of unconscience.

Conscience is where the person is ware of what is happening around him, what is the meaning that he derives from the objects that he sees etc. A person's overt level feelings that we can see for e.g. anger, love, sympathy, fear etc. What the person feels at the surface level.

Ego is defined by Freud as the balancing act between superego and id. Id has got childlike wishes, whereas super ego wants to be the ideal person in the society and ignores id. And Ego balances between both.

Above are the only two parts mentioned by Freud as far as conscience or ego is concerned. But the developmental stages developed by Freud focus more on unconscience factors.
