A 27-year-old Latino male presents to your office to inquire about quitting smoking. He has tried NicoDerm in the past with no success. He states that a few of his friends are “vaping” and wonders if this would be a good option for him.
Would you recommend this? If not, what would you recommend?

Vaping Vs Smoking:
It may be an good idea for this Latino male as he tried Nicoderm and got failure in quit smoking.
As vaping is better when compared for health and safety concern as it has less chemicals compared with smoking. It may save money compared with cigar pack expenses per year
Medication pharmacotherapeutics, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, patient monitoring, and education.
Nico derm can be used as in case of >10 Cigarettes / day :21-mg patch once daily for 6 weeks
Followed by 14-mg patch once daily for 2 weeks
Followed by 7-mg patch once daily for 2 weeks
It binds to nicotine receptors and absorbed systemically with reduction in withdrawl symptoms associated with cessation of smoking
It got excreted in Urine with the half life of 3-4 hours, peak plasma concentration of 5-17 ng/mL and peak plasma time of 8-9 hours with absorption of 68%
Monitoring of patients for adverse effects of drug, nausea and vomiting, erythema, rash and tolerability for drugs
Patient education includes: dangers of smoking while using nicotine patch
If the patient had previous history of heart attack, angina, ulcers, arrhythmias, uncontrolled BP and if she is pregnant, breast feeding etc.
Storage information such as keep out of reach for children, stored in a room temperature away from excessive heat and cold
