a) Find the value of m.

b) Find the median and mode of given data set.

a)To find m :

Given mean=11 

Formula of mean = Sum of observations/Total number of observations

Sum of observations of data set = 8+11+6+14+m+13

Total number of observations=6 

Put values in above formula 

11=8+11+6+14+m+13/6

11=52+m/6

Cross multiply

66=52+m

m=14.

b) To find Median ,arrange the given data in ascending order

                             6,8,11,13,14,14

    Total number of observations is Even . Therefore

       Median = (nth/2) term+ (nth/2+1) term /2

                     = (6/2)+(6/2+1)/2

                     =3rd term + 4th term /2

                    = 11+13/2

                    =12.
