Whether Ms. Schiavo gave clear oral indication of her desire for care should she lose her neocortical capacity remains contested, along with conflicting testimony on the degree of damage to her brain. Subsequent autopsy of Ms. Schiavo’s brain did indicate profound and irreversible neurological deterioration even though brain stem function continued.

If it had been possible to conclusively demonstrate, prior to the autopsy, that no higher brain function was possible for Ms. Schiavo, would that have been sufficient ethical grounds for discontinuing artificial feeding and hydration? Explain your answer.

Terri Schiavo is not dying but killing her like merciful thing to do for her..Terri don't like to live in this vegetative way..Her case was like roght to die..There are two kinds of grounds patient can reject the treatment1,whether it is useless 2, or burdensome.
Terminally illpatient treating with hospice they won't eat,they need tube with advanced disease,when Terri was suffering with brain damage for 15years her condition was irreversible.63% doctors agreed no use of feeding tube 67% doctor agreed with feeding tube will be safe to keep schiavo alive.o more for political advantage than out of concern for her the principles involved..christian organization demanded for feeding tube be reinserted and some groups also violated and protested the removal of feeding tube is the rights of disabled..
As per autopsy's report Terri cannot enter into her normal life again.Her brain was fully damaged there is no hope for her life.Her husband respected her wishes not to live off of unnatural mechanical means..As she was christian catholic they don't want to go against god will..After spending million dollar for her treatment he got money from other people for her treatment..

Terri was suffered for 15years by permanent vegetative state..when she is technically not dead,but she missed most of the activities in her life..Meaning of 'life and alive or death or dead..There is a different between coma and sleep..The international,covenant on civil and political right says..'Every human has the right to life,it was protected by law..no one should deprived on life..
