The nurse should ask has she taken anti hypertensive drug and specially any anti coagulant for CHF, because this drug is blood thinner and there are chances she may land up bleeding after or during surgery. Medication like digoxin has yo be checked.
She should probably have taken Medicaid services which doesn't include the medication. The reasons probably should be old age ,medical conditions
Ageing affect the rate of medication absorption.This is because of loss of mucosal intestinal lining,decrease in gastrointestinal blood flow, decreased gastric acid in absorption.The drug distribution is affected by the plasma and tissue protein binding capacity becomes lower after aging.Alteration in protein concentration, fat and intracellular fluid content leads to distribition problem.The renal system and liver are the main part of excretion but when ageing occurs the size becomes smaller, functions comes down and it affects the excretion.
