The food industry is a complex global collection of diverse businesses serving the food most consumed by the world's population. Surviving farmers, growing survivors, and hunter collectors can be considered beyond the reach of the modern food industry. The term food industry includes a variety of industrial activities aimed at food processing, transformation, preparation, storage and packaging. The food industry is now very diverse, ranging from small, traditional, multiracial family operations to large industrial processes, with high capital intensity and highly mechanized production.

Delegation of authority:-
