During your first week on duty, your board president and your chief of medical staff both express the same concern to you about the hospital staff: They just don’t seem to be very motivated in performing their duties these days. Quality of care and patient satisfaction are suffering as a result.

What will you do to set about improving motivation within your healthcare professional team? Explain at least three specific motivational strategies that you will try, and also explain how you will know if your strategies have worked.

-Individual motivation is the result of a process that energizes, directs and sustains the individual behavior.

MOTIVATIONAL STRATEGY:-
1. Review the mission statement of the Hospital and schedule predated meetings and times for all employees to attend.
-The purpose would be to reiterate the Mission and Vision of the Hospital in order for everyone to know that they are hired and trusted with the life and safety of the patients and quality of care is expected.

2. Revise the profit sharing of the hospital and implement incentives to staffs for every wonderful patient ratings they receive based upon every quarter of the year.

3. Encourage an open door policy, for staff to discuss his or her concern.

4. Gives continued recognitions to employees by ways of : Gift card of their choice, Assign Parking and Mounted Pictorial on every level within the hospital so all would know of their outstanding work.
