Expert Solution

Answer:

Hypothesis testing is an act in statistics whereby an analyst tests an assumption regarding a population parameter. The methodology employed by the analysts depends on the nature of the data used and the reason for the analysis. Hypothesis testing is used to assess the plausibility of a hypothesis by using sample data.

Ex . If we test the is it rainfall today or not ?

In this example our null hypothesis is the, Today is rainfall and our alternative hypothesis is the , Today is no rainfall .

Then we have to design a test statistic and calculate them . If our this calculated value is greater than the tabular value which calculated from table then we reject the our null hypothesis .

Hence, we said that there is no rainfall today

How would you describe Hypothesis Testing to a friend outside of this statistics class? Create a problem, you don't have to use Formulas. EXAMPLE: Hello! I would explain the hypothesis in words from symbols H0 = 85. What this means is that we want to test whether the average score on a statistics test is 85 or not. I would then explain the sample statistic in words (students, please do this), transferring it to a z-value. I would then explain...

I'm doing a research project for my research methods class in college, and I was confused on this assignment we're doing currently. Right now we've been doing rough drafts of the research paper dealing with different sections without having data. For each section we've really just been talking in a future sense predicting what we think might happen. This section confuses me because We're using Qualtrics for surveys to get data on our research project, and I'm not sure...
