How would you describe Hypothesis Testing to a friend outside of this statistics class? 300 words with explain please
Answer:
Hypothesis testing is an act in statistics whereby an analyst tests an assumption regarding a population parameter. The methodology employed by the analysts depends on the nature of the data used and the reason for the analysis. Hypothesis testing is used to assess the plausibility of a hypothesis by using sample data.
Ex . If we test the is it rainfall today or not ?
In this example our null hypothesis is the, Today is rainfall and our alternative hypothesis is the , Today is no rainfall .
Then we have to design a test statistic and calculate them . If our this calculated value is greater than the tabular value which calculated from table then we reject the our null hypothesis .
Hence, we said that there is no rainfall today
