Sofia Gomez (S.G.), a 24-year-old Latina mother, arrives at the community hospital's emergency department with her 4-year-old daughter, Maria. S.G. speaks broken English, and none of the nurses who speak Spanish are currently on duty.
The nurse is able to determine that Maria has not been eating for the last several days. S.G. says that she has tried to make her daughter drink, but Maria refuses. On physical examination, Maria has sluggish skin turgor, is lethargic, and does not communicate with her mother or the nurse. Her vital signs are T 39.6°C (103.3°F), P 125 and irregular, R 30 and shallow, and BP 86/58. Maria's throat is reddened, and lung auscultation reveals bilateral fine crackles.
When the nurse explains to S.G. that an IV line needs to be placed in Maria's arm, S.G. says it can't be done until her husband arrives. When Mr. G arrives, he speaks very little English and is skeptical of the need for IV placement. Maria is diagnosed with dehydration, strep throat, and pneumonia, requiring her to be admitted to the hospital.
Question 1:
List four or more socioeconomic and cultural assessment data that would gathered during her admission process.
Question 2:

1. The four socio-economic assessment and cultural data include; education, languages known by the patient, income , occupation, customs, religion
2.The four cultural factors that should be taken care of are; language, customs, respect and relationship and kindness.
Since most of the Latinos very much adhere to their cultural factors the nurse should be very careful while dealing with these patients.
so, as a health care worker, the nurse should seek help from the organization, for a person who provides language services, so that the patient can understand the importance of treatment for her condition.
Secondly, her customs and tradition should be respected and it should be understood by the patient that she is treated with due respect in all manners to receive the care.
Thirdly, the health care worker should develop a positive good relationship with the patient which helps them to develop trust in you, so that the child accepts treatment procedures to be followed.
Lastly, the nurse should be very kind. She should do it because then only the patient can understand that the nurse is to help her rather harming.
3. The first and most important step is to develop a trustful relationship with the patient so that whatever treatment the nurse plans she would accept. with the help of the language supporter the nurse can develop a trust between the patient and you and then make her understand that putting an IV line is the first option of treatment as she is very tired. She should explain in a convincing manner so that the child can accept the treatment procedure.
