In: Economics
This female economic thinker was deeply concerned about the deterioration of women's rights during a period of economic expansion and industrialization in her country. She came to the conclusion that women could not support themselves economically because of discrimination in the workplace, low wages and sexual exploitation. Poverty would continue to plague women until society allowed them to be self-sufficient and independent. She demanded equal wages for men and women, the opening of new careers for women, and equal rights for men and women under the law.
