Evidence plays a major role in decision making as far as transparency and facts are concerned. It can be used to make a decision whenever the decision is directly dependent on the evidence. Evidence can be used to determine a decision when such a process combines objective facts with qualitative inputs, such as intuition or bargaining with other stakeholders. Evidence helps in talking a decision by telling why a particular course of action is adopted over others. Effective evidence can help in increasing the likelihood of gaining decision goals by highlighting potential risks that can be mitigated with actions taken during decisions.
One can determine what evidence to use by following the
below-mentioned steps for evaluating evidence:
1. Identify the point or event that an individual wants to
prove.
2. Identify the possible evidence available like specific facts,
data, statistics, examples, etc to prove that point.
3. Identify the most important/helpful evidence for that
point.
4. determine whether the chosen evidence is sufficient, relevant
and representative
