What role does social sustainability play in organic farming? Does it contribute to the decision making of consumer choices when picking their produce and how? Does it contribute to the decision making of the producers themselves when deciding on if they should be organic or not? Thanks
Organic farming contribute to the social sustainability, and promote soil fertility, conserving land, not harming the atmosphere and health of the people with chemically produced eatables, and minimal or no use of pesticides. Social sustainability also plays very important role in organic farming, it imroives the wuakiqu of the produce, maintains health of the people and farmers find huge potential for marketing organic products domestically and internationally. It also improved the lives of the farmers and help them meet their family needs also.
Yes, sustainability does influence the consumer's buying decision. A consumer will purchase a Product whic is produced in a most natural way without using any chemical substance or pesticides, which also promote environmental protection. Consumers feel and believe they are provided with high quality produce which are very healthier and much better than other non organic products.
Yes it does influence the decision of producer in decisind whether he should go organic or not. A producer do consider many facts viz, huge growth of crops or produce, his livelihood, estimating revenue and meeting the needs of distributors and consumers and to upgrade his family life. Organic food has lot of demand and huge narkma potential, if there is an effective distribution system the producer may take lot of advantages by producing organic products. Therefore, considering the sustainability and it's benefits on his personal life and protecting the health and environment he may opt for going organic.
