Yes, we do have a dedicated nurse informaticist in our workplace. Our nursing informatics comprises of 32 members which is accrediated by JCI and is serving the widespread hospital sector of Qatar. The nurse informaticist works 24*7 in order to help nurses to be trained, educated about the electronic health record. They render specific courses for the new employees to train them with the WOW. They are also present to solve any technical issues that is been encountered during our working hours and in our professional, educational and personnel computer works.
The nursing informaticists issues journals every month with the vast information about the technical pro and cons of Intranet and Internet, their safe uses and how to deal with the privacy and confidentiality issues. The also encourage staff to assume higher educations in order to persue better job opportunities in the field of nursing informatics. This branch of nursing science is never a hindrance being a friend of every nurse to ease their technical workload.
