Discuss the economic reasons for male preference and economic policies that can equalize value of male and female children.

Solutions

Expert Solution

we have been living in the patriarchial society, that also believes in division of labour according to gender.

Traditionally it was so that men were meant to be the bread earners and women were the ones meant for household work. The same ideology favours male over female from economic point of view too. Hence have male centric policies. There are many a times problems associated with employing women on a higher post regarding her responsibilies towards her children, other family members, availability at home. There are certain higher post that would require too much dedication and time , as considered by the orthodox woment would not be able to provide enough of it due to various reasons like some of the mentioned above.

But in the recent times there has been a notable change.

some steps that may be taken in order to equalize the value of male and female chaildren are:

certain rules must be made in order to delay the marrying age of women procide complete knowloedge, scholarships etc

rules must come in regard to increase the number of female in BOD in companies

there is a greater requirement to empower mother who tend to leave their jobs as we see the same way we tend to grow up.

from the basic stage itself theres a need to remove the division of labour mindset amongst children.
