What are some major implications of the paradigm shift in the way modern physics view the universe?

Solutions

Expert Solution

Paradigm shift can be defined as an old way of sense and understanding about how things work,is replaced by a new more accurate and somehow shocking way.we have to see the implications of paradigm shift in modern physics.as maxewell viewed the things he started his scientific approach with the thought that universe is symmetric.he unified both electric field and magnetic field and also proved that even the ordinary light is a part of electromagnetic waves.his ideas get scientific evidence and his discoveries get accepted.he revolutionize whole electrodynamics and it became electromagnetic.then there comes einsteins work for mechanics.he talked about the time and space and showed that time is also a dimension of space and both are relative.he then showed that matter and energy can be unified.we can say that einstein did the most precious works about new revolution in modern physics, that is unification.de broglie discovered matter waves that proves that ordinary matter has also wave like feautures like wavelenght.planks discovery gave an idea about that waves can be considered as a bundle of particles of different frequencies.with the help of planks work einstein get his another important contribution to modern physics the photo electric effect.some research about scientific nature of atomic and sub atomic world showed that reality at micro level is very different that it is at macro level.at micro level the effect of gravity is very less and at macro level the nature of gravity itself changes, that describes the terms like black holes and the vary nature of time.now scietific community got two new dimensions micro universe and macro universe.but we can say that they are hypnotized with the idea of unification.einsteins incompleted work of theory of everything attracted many young minds in the field of modern physics.at the micro level quantum field theory is able to define everything within its domain and at macro level general relativity is able to define everything.by quantum field theory one can unify three fundamental interaction of universe as weak, strong and electromagnetic except gravity.general relativity describes the nature of macro world fully.but with the einstein incompleted work and the new revolution of unification of interaction challenges scientific society to continue the research in the direction of unification.there came a theory named string theory which all of four interaction are unified but it is not experimentally proved at.research is continued in that direction of unification.we can say after the late ninetyth century there is a paradigm shift towards how universe works.like universe is symmetric and it is needed to work in the direction of unification of interactions.
