Expert Solution

Competetive advantage of using drones :
1. Relative advantage -
The need for a person to access physically hostile environments(e.g. wind, weather) is eliminated
2. Complexity - The flying times are limited as a lot of energy gets utilized on offsetting gravity while flying.
3. Compatibility - Drones have varied usage in different sectors, but a user cannot readily operate it without decent amount of practice about its controls and functions.
4. Risk - Bad weather might affect drones, such as hailstorms or heavy snow. Abuse of power is also a risk as, drones can easily be used for espionage, attacks etc.
5. Trialability - To be fair , drones are not that easy to be accepted by a new customer. One needs a required amount of practice to get used to flying a drone, considering there are external elements like gravity, speed, weather conditions at play. But once, people get used to it, the applications are really promising. Drones do not come cheap too.
6. Observability - A drone can be easily said to be observable as a lot can be inferred from the outputs that it provides. Drones have well equipped High Definition cameras that could work upto a good height and provide a lot of useful information.

The future for drones -

  • The most crucial aspect of drones - reconnaissance, will be used by the militaries around the world.
  • There are uses in the agricultural sector to monitor crops.
  • Construction businesses can put drones to good use.
  • The entertainment industry could use drones to shoot from intriguing angles.
  • The same aspect goes out for the sports industries, to have recording from angles that are not possible without a drone.
