In oligopolistic market structures, product differentiation becomes an important tool for capturing market share. Products often have to be customized based on the needs and requirements of customers in different geographies and markets. In deciding how to analyze the markets, significant market research reports, analytics and market history has to be carried out in knowing the tastes and preferences of the consumers and ensuring and modifying the products in that regard. The benefits of altering the products will involve greater sales as the needs and preferences of the people in that market will be catered to. The fallback of such an approach will mean that the standardization of products will be lost across markets and this will be an issue in the long run. The idea will be to analyze the different markets available through market research and analysis and alter the products in question.
