Tube feeding -

Tube feedings are given when the patient cannot eat or drink. So to prevent body from dehydration fluid is given through the tube to patient.

the feeding tube directly goes into stomach.The name of the tube is gastrostomy tube ( GT).

First of all , wash your hands before touching GT tube. Attach 60 CC syringe to end of thefeeding tube pull back on the plunger. You should see some gastric juices.This is stomach content it confirms that tube is in the stomach then inject stomach content back to stomach and then flush with water.

Method of performing accucheck-

Accucheck is meter of testing the blood sugar level in the body.

1. First on the matter and place a strip at its place.

2. Then prick the finger and touch the tip of the strip on the blood drop.

3.Wherever blood absorbed by strip it will begin to check.

4. Then blood sugar level is displayed on the metre.

5. After that discard the used lancet properly.
