Q: Why is involving the LGBTIQA community in the reproductive rights movement important?
LGBTIQA stands for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning and Allied.
Reproductive rights were the rights that an individual would be getting such that they could decide if they have the right to reproduce and bare an offspring. Reproductive rights are only not confined to women to reproduce, but also with people having the right to plan their family, if they have the right to plan or end a pregnancy, this also includes tthe he ability of individuals to learn about se-x and different types communities that prevail in the society.
LGBTIQA: this is important in the reproductive rights movement because the LGBTIQAcommunity has faced oppression and discrimination from the society and also, up to some extent, from the government as well. Many a times, the LGBTIQA people are mocked or harassed for their se-Xual orientation. Even when certain g-ay men men would want to have children, they were not allowed to do so at a time. These people didn’t have the liberty to be parents, a freedom that any person should have the liberty to have. This led to people coming together and organising themselves into groups. Not only did g-ay couples not have this liberty, the same. Issues stayed with all the other members of the LGBTIQA community, and this led to formation of an increase in the rights that would be given to people.
