EmerEmergency Departments (ED) are highly acute patient care
environments which are often unpredictable.
Nurses are one of the key components to understanding the
criticality and breadth of patient care needs while
addressing them in the most efficient way. Thus, nursing turnover
poses a significant stumbling block to ED
leaders who desire to preserve a seasoned and competent nursing
workforce.
Example.when i was working in ED department i think i was in night shift with full patients in that one case pt.name -Mr Abraham ,age-65yr/male,pt came to ED with complaints of face droping, arm weakness, speech difficulty, aand history of high blood pressure ,high cholesterol, diabetes, and finally my duty doctor decided its a ischemic stroke by doing CT scan and MRI,and started treating pt with thrombolytic medication, and fallowed doctors order neurologist ,the time we gave care to the pt in ED is about 5 hours But itts a valuble time for pt and staff.
Conclusion is the ED nurse plays a main role and its a different experiences with differnt cases, and its a best learning oppurtunity.Thanku
