There are two types of COVID-19 tests: the first one with lower sensitivity and higher speed(results can be available in very few hours) and the second one with higher sensitivity and lower speed(results need a long time to be available). If we have two countries: one with a high number of infected people and one with a low number of infected people, which test would you recommend using in each country, and why?

Solutions

Expert Solution

country with a high number of infected people Country with a low number of infected people
I would recommend the COVID-19 test which is of higher speed & lower sensitivity because the results will be quick. As the number of infected persons are higher, the quick results can easily tests them all which could not be done by lower speed & higher sensitivity test. I would recommend COVID-19 test which is of lower sped and higher sensitivity because they results wil be more precise. As the number of infected persons are low, there is no need to tests with higher speed because the lower sped can will the results in desirable time due to the lesser number of infected persons.
