Why does the treatment of strep throat with an antibacterial drug increase the chance for secondary infection with C. difficle or Candida? What can be done to prevent this?
C.difficle naturally occurs in gut at normal level and do not cause any infection.the usage of antibiotics alter the balance of C. difficle. It increasec in number and cause infection such as diaorrhea, dehydration, loss of appetite.Individuals with less immune system in the healthcare environment are more prompt to infection.Candidiasis infection caused by yeast.Candida normally live in skin , mouth, gut and internal genital organ and are not infectious.Strep infection which cause the inflammation of pharyngitis, antibiotic treatment such as Pencillin G, Cephalosporin and Clindamycin are suggested. The usage of antibiotics weakend the immune system and effect the normal flaura of C.difficle and Candida and they may multily rapidly in the body. This infection ocurs mainly by touch and close contact and can be prevented by washing hands properly,drinking and eating utensils of patients are to kept seperately, using disenfectant for washing, disposing used dirty tissues properly.Treatment for C. difficle infection include antibiotic treatment vancomycin, filaxomycin, proboitic treatment S.bourardi along with antibiotics and microbiota transplant and antifungal medicines are used to treat Candidiasis.
