Hearing voices which others cannot hear is a auditory hallucination. Individuals with auditory hallucination hear voices they are familiar ,unknown or unusual voices.

The are many reasons for this auditory hallucination. This include

▪Traumatic incidents: hearing voice of an incident that already happended in a persons life.

▪Sleeplessness: lack of sleep makes a peson weak and out of mind , which produces hallucinations.

▪Schizophrenia : this is a mental illness which tend to feel things that are not happened or present and hear voices that do not exist.

▪Depression: severe depression cause the patient to break with the reality. This can leads to auditory hallucination.

▪Anxiety: feeling of fear can make the person to hear unusual voices.

▪Stress: intense stress ,when going through a serious incident in life can hallucination. Hearing voices of loved ones after their death is common

▪Alzheimers disease : later stage of alzheimers can cause auditory hallucination.

▪Drugs : drugs like LSD can make a person to hear that aren't there.

Other reasons include heavy alcohol drinking, epilepsy, tinnitus, migraine, thyroid disease(myxedema).
