NIOSH: The term NIOSH stands for "National Institute for Occupational safety and health". It is a federal agency formed in US, which is responsible for conducting research. It also makes recommendations for the prevention of diseases and injuries.
ATSDR: The term ATDSR stands for "Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry". It is formed in US for health and human services. It conducts health studies, health surveys and health education training programmes in communities.
LEPC: The term LEPC stands for "Local Emergency Planning Committee. It is appointed by State Emergency Response Commission (SERC). It is important to develop emergency response plan and should review the plan every year. The plans in this committee are developed by stakeholder.
FOIA: The term FOIA stands for "Freedom of Information Act". It is a federal law formed in US which grants public access about information from government agencies.
TCLP: The term TCLP stands for "Toxicity Charactetistic Leaching Procedure". It is a type of extraction method of soil from chemical analysis and the final extract is analysed for the required appropriate substances.
TORT Law: The term tort itself says "wrong". It is considered as a wrong thing and makes claimant to suffer any kind of loss or harm by the one who commits tortious act. The three types of tort laws include- negligence, strict liability and intentional torts (knowingly committed). The superfund money comes from three sources of petroleum excise tax, chemical feedstock excise tax and environmental income taxes. The bill becomes law after approval of the legislation by the president.
Act: The term 'Act' refers to 'do something' or 'take action'. It is termed as the passage of bill by various legislative steps, which becomes law. Simply, Act is an enactment.
Guidance: The term guidance refers to the process of guiding, giving advice or counselling. It deals with helping other people to make them understand the things in a possible way.
Policy: The term policy refers to the act of governance. It is simple an wise and advantageous conduct.
Rule: It is a law or a regulation. For example, 'to rule a kingdom'.
Standard: The term standard refers to the quality.
