Name at least three ways that her organization could help decrease work-family conflict and stress. Why should they bother?
Answer: The Sally’s organization can use the following ways for helping Sally reduce her work-family conflicts
1. The company should offer counseling sessions and workshops on creating work life balance for the employees like Sally. These activities can teach the employees to learn about tactics that may help them to manage their work –life balance by learning skills like time management
2. The company should create flexible work arrangements like telecommuting and work from home formats so that the employees can get time for the family life and they can take out time for their families
3. Thirdly the companies can also offer them better schedule control by adjusting their timing of work (avoiding times that are too early in the morning) , location of work (placing the employees at the offices that are near to their homes) and number of hours they work
4. The company need to train the managers to be emphatic to the employees and develop skills that can enable them to handle work in such a manner that they are supportive to work life balance in office
The employers should help the employees to reduce the work family conflict and stress as this stress can directly affect the performance of the employees. This reduces overall productivity of the organizations. The high work-life balance related stress may also result in high turnover rates and may result in higher staffing cost and a bad employer image at the market. Hence the companies need to bother about reducing the work family conflict and stress at their workplace.
