Amygdala is one of the two almond shaped nuclei,located close to hippocampus in front deep portion of TEMPORAL LOBE.

Answer to 2nd Question:

  1. Major functions of Amygdala includes
  • arousal
  • autonomic response
  • emotional response
  • Hormonal secretion
  • memory.

This structure is responsible for all the threats which are required to be responded. Amygdala is mainly responsible for storage of memory. Emotions of respective level are stored in respective places.

level of emotion which is attatched to a memory governs the place to be stored in brain. It responds mainly to fear , ranging from threat to arousal.

A Functional MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING is one of the tools most commonly employed,but it is not so ideal to use for clinical practice because of high price and low accessibility.
