1- FEDERALISM-
1-Federalism is a compromise meant to eliminate the disadvantage of both systems. In s federal system, power is shared by the national and state governments.
2-The constitution designates certain powers to be domain of a central government, and others are specifically reserved to the state Governments.
3-Federalism is one system that allows for increased citizens ' participation. The reason for this is that when power gets shared in levels, the citizens can influence policies, people who govern them and the likes,. Also, federalism makes the management of conflicts quite easier.
4-Fewer than thirty modern countries have federal systems today, including Australia, Canada, Germany, Mexico, and the United States. But even though few other countries practice it today, federalism has provided the balance that the United states has needed since 1787.

2- EFFECTIVENESS OF FEDERALISM-
1-The Rapid spread of novel coronavirus disease (COVID -19) across the United States has been met with a decentralized and piecemeal response led primarily by governors, mayors, and local health departments .
2-This disjointed response is no accident. Federalism, or the division of power between a national government and states, is a fundamental feature of US public health authority.
3-In this pandemic, US public health federalism assures that the coronavirus response depends on "zip code ".
4-A global pandemic has no respect for geographic boundaries, laying bare the weaknesses of federalism in the face of a crisis.
5-Federalism has evolved over the course of American history because the powers rarely overlapped, dual federalism is also known as layer cake federalism .
6-Dual federalism was used in this country for a long time. However, by the 1930s, layer cake federalism began to morph into marble cake federalism.

1- FEDERAL SYSTEM-
1-Power is shared by a powerful central government and States or provinces that are given considerable self-rule , usually through their own legislatures.
2-Example- The United States, Australia, the Federal Republic of Germany.
3-Federalism is a type of government in which the power is divided between the national government and other governmental units. It contrasts with a unitary government, in which a central authority holds the power, and a confederation, in which states , for example, are clearly dominant.
4-While the constitution addressed only the relationship between the federal government and the states, the American people are under multiple jurisdictions.
5-A person not only pays his or her federal income tax but also may pay state and city income taxes as well .Property taxes are collected by countries and are used to provide law enforcement, build new schools, and maintain local roads.
