Greece is located in South of Europe bordered by albania and Bulgaria in North , turkey in East ,cretan and libyan seas from the south and ionian sea from West which separates Greece from Italy The population of Greece is approx 1.1 crore with life expectancy of 80 years approx .The population density of Greece is 82 people per square km. Sex ratio of Greece is 97 males per 100 females.greece has abudant of natural resources .limestone is one of the resources found in Greece .Greece is rich in olive oil trees .Greece has many mineral deposits also . These are marble, clay, nickel, coal, bauxite, ore, and chromate. The country only has one major petroleum deposit in the Aegean Sea near Thasos.the GDP per capita of Greece is approx 23000 US dollars .The economy of Greece is 51th largest in term of gdp in world.
Tariff system of Greece
The import tariff protects domestic products market and provide
a source of government revenue.Greek exports to EU countries are
tariff-free. Imports from non-EU countries are subject to the EU's
common customs tariff. Most raw materials enter duty-free, while
manufactured goods have tariff rates between 5%- 7%. Motor
vehicles, yachts, and motorcycles are subject to special duties.
Greece imposes an 8% to 18% value-added tax and special consumption
taxes on alcohol and tobacco up to 150%. The average applied tariff
rate is 2%
