Answer: Nurses have lots of responsibility, they are not only bound to takecare of patients but also to aware people about the disease and healthy living. There is a difference between acute and chronic diseases, and one must understand about this. To demonstrate broad knowledge of chronic and acute diseases, one has to know the difference between it.
Chronic diseases are long lasting and it cannot be prevented through vaccines. The chronic word applies for the diseases which lasts for more than 3 months. For example, Alzheimer, asthma, COPD.
If we talk about acute diseases, they are severe and sudden onset. They are for short period, and recovery is easy but intensive care should be provided. For example, acute leukaemia.
Answer: Nurses have many roles, they also possess many additional attributes; including knowledge, technical and practical skills, interpersonal skills, the ability to think critically and to practise safely and effectively based on evidence.The main purpose of professional standards is to direct and maintain safe and clinically competent nursing practice. These standards are important to our profession because they promote and guide our clinical practice.
Answer: Evidence-based nursing involves collecting, evaluating and implementing evidence to improve patient care and outcomes. Clinicians rely on experience and expertise to evaluate research findings that can benefit patients. Collecting the information as well as all the data related to the disease, which can be helpful for the patient is one of the major reason of evidence based practice.
