Please explain:
What are all the big factors that influence Earth’s climate? (i.e., plate movement, sunspot cycles, etc., there are more; know them all)
Ans.
the major factors that determine the climate on earth are as following -
1. plate movement - we know that the earth is made of plates which are granitic in nature (Silica and aluminium). as these plates move, they carry the features of climate of a region to another. Also there movement, causes release of a huge energy in the form of volcanoes and earthquakes which further increases the temperature of the earth atmosphere.
2. sunspot cycles - scientists say that an average sunspot remains for 11 yrs and when the number of sunspots is more on the sun, it causes more waves to reach the earth which bring more heat while when they are dormant, earth receives less heat
3. Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere - they have an ability of absorbing the heat in the atmosphere which causes an increase in the earth temperature because of decreasing terrestrial radiation that re radiates heat from the earth.
4. insolation reaching earth - it highly depends upon tilt of the earth and position of earth during revolution. Since the earth is spherical, the region of equator receives the highest insolation while due to tilting, one of the poles remain dark for 6 months and hence the angle of the sun etc depend insolation received by the earth
5. albedo and amount of insolation reflected on earth surface - If the concrete made roads increase in number and ice and glaciers decrease in number, there will be more absorption of heat and thus will
