the table t-value associated with the upper 1% of the t- distribution and 5 degrees of freedom is_________________ .

Solutions

Expert Solution

The tabulated or the critical value of t- test associated with upper 1% of the t - distribution with 5 d.f.

Here, = 1% or 0.01

The table given above is a t -table representing values of t -test associated with various level of significance for various degrees of freedom , for one tail and two tail test .

Now , we have to find right tailed (one tailed ) value of t for 5 d.f. at .01 level of significance.

I have marked the one tail level of significances at the upper part of table and then mark the values for 5 d.f. horizontally. Now , we move vertically down for .01 level of significance values and stop at the value which is for 5 d.f.

And the value is

t.01 , 5  = 3.365

This is the required value of t for upper 1% with 5 degrees of freedom.
