What is the primary goal of case studies? Discuss how Human Theory plays a significant role in research.
A case study can be said as an in-depth and extensive example that is being used to establish a specific argument or a way for developing an absolute understanding of a process, program, event, or activity. It is a way of approaching a research topic. Case studies can combine both quantitative and qualitative information in order to provide with deep picture of an issue to be studied. Case studies are being used for several purposes including defining od a question or situation, hypothesis for the study, giving a description of an event, and establishment of cause and effect relationship. Case studies are being used in various fields right from medicine to law to media and communications etc. Using the result the researcher put forward other researchers can use them as a source of secondary material for further research. The primary goal of case study research is to understand the complexity of a case in the most complete way possible.
Human theory plays a significant role in research. Research bias is a problem that might not help the research and cause a problem. When entering a case study the researcher becomes involved with the people within the organization. These participants will have their own motivations, opinions, approaches, and personalities, and these must be allowed for and managed within the research context.
