1. The purpose of the article or problem statement
The purpose of the article is that not much work has been done on the fact that emotions and mood are two distinct phenomena, though related, and the distinction is not as clear. Hence, the study was conducted so that a clearer distinction could be made between the two phenomena, as compared to the current standards.
2. A brief summary of the literature review
There has been agreement by most academicians on the fact that, emotion and mood are different But these distinctions are not very clear. One of the earliest study provided by Ekman in 1994 where he said that the differences between moodand emotions may be only semantic. Many other people have also worked on these two distinctions such as Alpert and Rosen , batson , shaw and oleson etc.. There has still not been clear distinction between the two terms. But, it is required since it would also aid in therapeutic practice. These would help in understanding of emotion environmental stressors, and devising mood regulation strategies.
3. What are the research questions or hypotheses from this article that would be relevant to how color affects one's mood?
How colour could affect one’s mood can be noticed in how a person is influenced while being around one type of colour for most of the time. This is important , since identification of colour and mood can yield insights into better productivity and greater efficiency of a person, with a thought of well being at home.
4. A basic description of the design/methodology of the research study
The fife shaw sampling method was used, snowball technique. Here, participants recommend each other for participating in the study. The participants were given questions, which they answered and data was analysed.
