Write what statistical test would be used to test the research question.

1. Eli-Lilly is interested in the level of blood glucose control after the 2nd and 6th week on their new diabetes drug. Mean fasting blood glucose levels are compared for the two weeks.

2. Dr. Samuels wants to know if her doctoral students have a higher IQ score than the population. Everyone knows the population SD is 15.

3. You have collected senior GPA information for your honor society (of which you are a President). You want to know if the GPA is different from all Geneseo senior students’ GPAs. You do not know the population SD for GPA.

4. Are women more suggestible than men? You compare men and women’s suggestibility mean scores (measured at interval scale)

5. Is there a difference in participants’ position on gun control (for, against) if they are members of the republican, democratic parties or are independent?

6. Is there a difference (from equality) in the number of A’s, B’s, and C’s in a capstone course in psychology?

7. Is there a relationship between Family Income level and Children's IQ scores?

8. How many traffic tickets do men under 25 get, compared to women under 25? Data are collected on 18-25-year-old men and women.

# Write what statistical test would be used to test the research question.

## 1. Eli-Lilly is interested in the level of blood glucose control after the 2nd and 6th week on their new diabetes drug. Mean fasting blood glucose levels are compared for the two weeks.

Answer : it is 2 sample paired t test : because here observations study for   before and  after ,

## 2. Dr. Samuels wants to know if her doctoral students have a higher IQ score than the population. Everyone knows the population SD is 15.

Answer : it is one sample z test , because her population sd is known , talk about one sample population parameter .

## 3. You have collected senior GPA information for your honor society (of which you are a President). You want to know if the GPA is different from all Geneseo senior students’ GPAs. You do not know the population SD for GPA.

Answer : it is one sample t  test , because her population sd is unknown , talk about one sample population parameter

## 4. Are women more suggestible than men? You compare men and women’s suggestibility mean scores (measured at interval scale)

Answer : it is two sample t test for independent sample  . because here we have two varaibles mean and women . and claim is compared to each other.

## 5. Is there a difference in participants’ position on gun control (for, against) if they are members of the republican, democratic parties or are independent?

Answer : it is chi square test because here we have variales are categorical .

## 6. Is there a difference (from equality) in the number of A’s, B’s, and C’s in a capstone course in psychology?

Answer : it is anova test : because here we have more than 2 variables and we have to test for it difference or not .

## 7. Is there a relationship between Family Income level and Children's IQ scores?

Answer : it is chi square test , because here both variables are categorical .

## 8. How many traffic tickets do men under 25 get, compared to women under 25? Data are collected on 18-25-year-old men and women.

Answer : it is two sample t test .
