Solutions

Expert Solution

Blood pressure in automatic wrist cuff always have a variation from manual arm cuff it ranges between 5-10 mmHg.For using this both initially patient should be relaxed. In manual arm cuff we place the apparatus at the patient heart level. Here cannot place the apparatus at heart level so after wrapping if it is wrapped on the left wrist place the hand crossly over the chest and support it with other hand. After wrapping one can immediately start inflates the cuff in manual apparatus. Here after positioning of the wrist over chest wait for the device to start inflate automatically if not one need to adjust the position in the chest till the device start to inflate. Some patients will talk to the nurse while checking blood pressure in manual apparatus but in automatic apparatus one need to calm and quite otherwise the device will show furthermore irregular reading. These are the differences the nurse need to control while checking blood pressure in these different apparatus.
